Jack At Home

What is Jack?

Jack offers at-home semen analysis kits, enabling individuals to evaluate their sperm quality and fertility, store sperm for future use, or verify the success of a vasectomy. Traditionally, semen analysis required a visit to a clinic or laboratory, where individuals had to provide a sample under potentially uncomfortable conditions, with staff and other patients nearby. Jack eliminates this discomfort by allowing the collection of samples in the privacy of your own home, delivering results that meet clinical standards without the inconvenience or embarrassment. For those who value ease, privacy, and accuracy on par with in-person laboratory assessments, Jack could be an ideal solution.

What is the success/failure rate of the test? Are there any false positives or negatives?

Our kit was designed with the guidance of a top Andrologist and 100% of our kits are shipped back and analyzed by a lab that is regulated according to what’s called the Clinical Laboratory Improvement
Amendments, or CLIA
. Which means we meet all federal requirements for providing doctors and patients with semen analysis results that can be used to make healthcare decisions. CLIA compliance is monitored by three federal agencies: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Each agency has a unique role in assuring quality laboratory testing. This ensures that every test is done to the same exacting quality standards, so you get results that you and your healthcare provider can use to make important decisions about your fertility. In the case of our Post Vasectomy test - we follow strict AUA Guidelines for assessing the success of a vasectomy procedure. If deemed successful it means that one well-mixed uncentrifuged post vasectomy semen sample showed azoospermia or only rare non-motile sperm (≤ 100,000 sperm/ml).

How long do I need to wait from the last ejaculation before giving a sample?

You MUST wait at least 12 weeks and have 20 ejactualtions after vasectomy.

Is Jack FDA-Approved?

The FDA doesn't exactly give its stamp of approval to laboratory tests like the ones we conduct. Instead, lab tests fall under the regulation umbrella of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, affectionately known as CLIA. At our lab, we're proud to hold a CLIA certification (CLIA Number: 05D2177822), signifying our adherence to all national standards necessary for generating semen analysis results that doctors and patients can rely on for making informed health decisions. CLIA's standards are kept in check by a trio of federal bodies: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Center for Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), each playing a vital role in ensuring the integrity of lab testing.

Here at Jack, we take great pride in managing our own CLIA-certified lab. This autonomy allows us to maintain the highest level of precision across all tests, offering you and your healthcare professionals reliable data to guide fertility choices. Additionally, our laboratory has earned accreditation from COLA—the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation. As a non-profit organization led by physicians, COLA aids laboratories in achieving and surpassing quality standards, ensuring compliance with both federal and state regulations.

Is my privacy and data safe?

Safeguarding your privacy is at the top of our priority list. When your semen analysis kit lands on your doorstep, it'll be tucked inside a plain cardboard box that won't give away its contents to any curious eyes. Unless someone scrutinizes the return address and happens to also have bought a Jack Kit, your secret's safe. And if they do recognize it? Well, you might just earn yourself a knowing fist bump and a new pal. The box you'll send back is just as incognito, devoid of any wording that might hint at what's inside, ensuring your trip to drop it off at UPS is worry-free.

Behind the scenes, our lab team handles your sample with utmost confidentiality, relying on barcode numbers and other non-personal details for identification. After your sample has had its moment under the microscope, we make sure it's properly disposed of. There's absolutely no chance of it being sold, stored, or repurposed for insemination purposes. And when it comes to getting your results, they're securely transmitted to you through our platform, keeping your information locked down and for your eyes only.

Can I share my results with my Urologist?
Once your results are ready, you will receive an update notification email to check your results. When you login, you can retrieve your results and share them with your Urologist!

We'll happily send over a fresh vial of preservation solution, on the house.
